Trudge on, march forth, bleak lands, far as I can see
No end, rest not, wither, and emaciate
Innocence, forgotten; virtue cast away
Bloodshot eyes, in horror, stare right through the fray
Thoughts consumed, with terror; death would bring respite
Disbelief, that my own hands could wield the blade that brought on his end
Yet…the flesh was oh so weak, and his blood bittersweet
When opening the throat, I finally proclaimed!
I will not follow you! I shall be led by none!
I’ll walk a path that I shall create until my end of days
Ascendancy! Stand high above, and see
The fallacy! Crush them in their infamy
Resolve, restored, at peace, with the choice I’ve made
His reign, now ends, no more, shall his hand oppress
I return, and though I, may well meet my end
Consequences, worth the, price upon my head
Zealots will not listen, they or I shall die
Yet my will, in freedom, drives me to press on and thrive not a slave!
Ascendancy! Stand high above, and see
The fallacy! Crush them in their infamy
Excellent atmospheric BM that most likely would've made my top 10 if it had come out a bit earlier in the year. Gonna be spinning this for a good while, especially during the cold winter days. Roland
Not into "sludge" per se, but this Warcrab album is so versatile, no kidding, it did appeal to me. It reminded me a bit of a few bands I liked as teenager, namely Carcass and Crowbar, and that is why this one turned out to be a damn good trip down to memory lane for me ! sachavonkarl74
